Hopped-Up Exposition // David Biene

Be sure to head down to the Flake Kings’ garage on october 6th for the opening of the exhbition of Hopped-Up showing photographs taken from David Biene’s sold out book by the same name. Seen for the first time in the Netherlands.

Exploring European Hot Rod and custom culture through beautiful fine art photography, this exhibition documents life from the garage to the race track and all that lies in between. Experience the iconic rockabilly style of the ‘40s and ‘50s for one month only – don’t miss out. David Biene, Berlin based photographer and custom culture afficionado himself, has spent more than five years submerging himself in Europe's hot rodding scene from Spain in the south all the way up to Norway in the north. Finding that for most it is more than just a car in the garage, it is a way of life.
For David it’s all about real people and about personalities. It’s about true enthusiasm and passion, about sweat and fun, about friendship and individuality.

The Hopped-Up Exhibition at the Flake Kings garage in Eindhoven runs from october 6th to october 27th and is opened every saturday and sunday from 12 – 6 pm.

From home to track and everywhere in between the exhibition takes images from David's coffee table book which sold out within 3,5 months. Though, unfortunately the book was reprinted yet, it has been awarded by the MPC in a special category and was exhibited internationally.
Featured here are a few of the images from the exhibition. Please note that all photos of Hopped-Up were shot on film and were neither staged nor retouched or cropped.
